Hi Andrzej, could you briefly introduce yourself and FINANTEQ?

My name is Andrzej Sierpiński, and I am Managing Director at FINANTEQ, an award-winning company specializing in mobile ­­banking. We were one of the first companies in the world to create a native mobile banking application, and have worked with several major banking groups in Poland and the Middle East. Most of these remain our clients, benefitting from our experience and outside the box thinking. We also create mobile banking components, easily integrable products that enrich banking apps, and help our clients become digital leaders.

Why did you decide on application shielding?

We provide our clients with the best possible mobile banking experience, and by taking security seriously we build trust. We decided on application shielding because there were some areas we felt needed additional protection. 

Any particular trends in the banking industry driving the need for stronger app security?

Banking is going mobile, there is no doubt about that. As the economy and financial system become more digitised, cyber risk is growing in importance. As an industry, we are clearly seeing the rise in mobile platforms, but so do people with malicious intent. During the Covid-19 pandemic, financial institutions have been at the leading edge of the response to cyber risk. There has been a sharp increase in attacks on mobile banking apps all over the world, so we felt an obligation to keep our clients safe.

Why did you choose Promon SHIELD™?

Following a thorough search, and extensive testing, we decided on Promon SHIELD™. Not only does it cover all the basic features we’re looking for, it actually exceeded our expectations. The customer care and responsiveness of the Promon team has also been second to none. We did some POC demonstrations to show our clients the scale of the security features.
